Project Santa Car Cruise

November 27, 2011

Sunday, November 13th the 4th Corner Elites Car Club had their annual Project Santa Car Cruise and it was a huge success. The cars met by Starbucks in the Meridian/Cordata Shopping Center and headed to the courthouse rotunda under Whatcom County Sheriff Deputy escort  to deliver their donated toys.  Many of the cars where decorated in festive Christmas decorations.

If you have not heard of the 4th Corner Elite’s Car Club they are a wonderful group of car enthusiasts who love to drive and show their collector cars and trucks ranging from early 1900 classics to the Muscle Cars of the 1960′s and 1970′s.  The non-profit club sponsors four car shows a year and raised money for local charities like Project Santa Claus and scholarship funds for students in the automobile field of study at both Western Washington University and Bellingham Technical College.

Whatcom County Project Santa Toy Shop Toy Sorting…

November 26, 2011

November 18th was the Whatcom County Project Santa toy sorting day at the storage unit in Sunset Storage. We had a great turn out of voluteers to help sort toys for the Whatcom County Project Santa Toy Shop.  Project Santa is only able to help 125 children so in order to reach more children in the community the Whatcom County Project Santa Toy Shop was added to the Project Santa program.  Organized by a Squalicum High School student Michael Reid, the toy shop is for those children who are not chosen to “shop at K-Mart” it allows for children to come and picks a special toy of their liking from the toy shop.  Coupons for the Toy Shop are handed out by Whatcom County Sheriff’s Deputies, social/civic organizations and Whatcom County schools.

A huge thank you to our biggest toy donator the 4th Corner Elites Car Club, Whatcom County Fire Distric 4 and Saturna Capital. If you would like to donate to the Whatcom County Project Santa Toy Shop new and unwrapped toys can also be dropped off at the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office located at 311 Grand Ave in Bellingham.
